PE Day 6:

This is the petition in the LORD’s Prayer. Can you see how this is a great place to start a prayer? Why?

Yes, we are calling out to God to make his name perfect. In Heaven His glory is made known by the angels (since that ‘s why He created them). It’s our job on Earth to “petition” to God to show His glory here on Earth, as it’s presented in Heaven. Starting your prayer in this manor sets up the atmosphere in His holiness.

What are some things God says about His own character in the Bible?

1 John 4:8 “Whoever  does not love does not know God, because God is LOVE.”

1 Corinthians 13:4-10 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor ohers, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the trut. It always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; , here there is knowedge it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.”

I went to a bible study and the teaching was about how God is Love, that He equals Love. What we did was put His name into the 1 Corinthians and it descibed who God is. I love this idea, because it’s no only a way we need to look at Love, but it’s also something we can hold God accountable to and know that He will never go against these principles.
